Travis Moebes has worked for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) for the past 23 years as a Senior Scientist, Statistician and coordinator in various activities. In today’s capacity, Dr. Moebes and the technical teams he works with are producing data management and analysis tools to support safety and reliability for NASA’s Shuttle, Space Station, and Space Ship programs using science and statistical methods. His extensive career began in 1970 for Texas Instruments as a system engineer for 2 years followed by 10 years in the Oil industry with Texaco Inc. and Exxon Incorporated as a senior research specialist in Geophysics. He has over 100 publications covering Software Technology, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Reliability. He was a past nominee for the Fields Medal in Combinatorial Topology and has received 4 NASA Outstanding Achievement awards.
